Red lipsticks for pale skin: Swatches & Reviews

25 August 2020

Red lipstick for pale skin can be a tricky one. The red does seem to accentuate the paleness of the complexion, and vice versa. It can also be daunting as a pale-skinned person trying to buy red lipstick, as the contrast may make you feel that your lips are lit up like a neon sign,…

My skin type & colouring

Fair with neutral undertones. Dehydrated, normal & sensitive.

Best foundation matches: No1 de Chanel Foundation in B10 is the best single match out of a bottle - pretty much exact. The next best match is probably Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation in Porcelain 01. Other foundations I've worn are Nars Sheer Glow in Montblanc and Lisa Eldridge Foundation in 05. In terms of MAC (which I do not match well), I usually mix NC15 and NW15/20 together.

Skin type: Sensitive in the sense I get inflammatory breakouts if I'm sensitive to something, rather than itchiness. My skin gets easily dehydrated so I tend to use "dry skin" products, but unlike truly dry skin, it can't handle heavy oils and butters.
